O Kitty, Where art thou ?

The motive behind setting up this blog for my cats was to have a place in cyberspace, chronicling their charming and amusing idiosyncrasies. Sadly my laziness and private battles to bring serenity in my personal life has robbed me from talking the time out and penning down their amusing frolics and the immense source of joy, my feline companions have turned out to be.

Ironically, my second entry at cat-a-log is turning out to be an obituary of sorts, for Simon, who has been missing since morning.

Though all my cats enjoy a nightly prowl around the neighborhood, they usually come home the next morning. As I write this down, it’s almost 24 hours since Simon was seen in the house. Many of you reading this would probably feel that a person feeling upset about a cat missing for 24 hours, has her cerebral sanctity under doubt. (Under normal circumstances, I know I would…).

Initially I was not really concerned of his absence, as sometimes my cats do tend to wander off during the day, popping in for food and water or a quick catnap. I became acutely aware of his absence when I was told that a corpse of a grey tabby cat has been spotted, near the road, close to my residence. That feline is supposed to have met with a fatal road accident. I do not have the nerve to go and make myself look at the crushed corpse in order to identify whether it was indeed Simon or not. Throughout the day my eyes kept straying towards the cat-door waiting/willing him to stroll in, warbling his arrival in his peculiar long drawn mews..

For now I am holding back my tears and am praying and hoping against hope that Simon will turn up safe and sound in the morning.
